Preparing
Production
The availability of the following information n capacity is an important aspect of planning.
Precast vendors who can produce some or all of the following elements
- Columns
- Inverted tee beams or rectangular Spandrels
- Wall panels with lights and structural wall panels
- Slabs with hollow cores, single tees, and double tees
- Stairs
The next important capacity is the vendor’s existing plant capacity within 50 kilometres of the proposed project site.
Transportation
Access to the site must be provided by roads with adequate capacity for 40 MT trailers radius in the approach roads. Furthermore, vehicles with the required capacity must be readily available.
Handling and Erection
Complete site access with adequate parking for trailers and crane operating space must be provided. The election must be planned so that the crane boo operating distance is available. Handling hooks, loops, and slings for HT cables must be designed.
Precast Construction Planning
The precast building concepts are based on the economy of buildability and the standardisation of precast components. Precast element stripping, storing, transporting, and erecting methods must be given special consideration.
General
The speed of precast construction is greatly influenced by the planning and execution of the installation sequence. Following are a few points that need to be considered when trying to implement smooth delivery and execution of your project
- The crane is critical in ensuring that the components are quickly erected.
- The crane's position in relation to the final panel location.
- It is critical to consider the following delivery considerations, especially for precast concrete components.
- On-time arrival.
- Correct components were delivered on time.
- Components were delivered undamaged.
